Maze packaging is made from recycled content cardboard.
Ferrous Sulfate (from the steel rod “pickling” process) is sold for use in fertilizers, snack foods, pharmaceuticals and as a stabilizer to render hazardous chemicals safer for landfilling.
Fewer than 200 GPD (gallons per day) of process wastewater discharge. Waste water is pre-treated on-site and contains less than 2% of allowable zinc content and less than 1/10th of 1% of the allowable lead content per federal limits.
Zinc alloy is “special high grade”—99.99% pure. Less than .003% lead or cadmium content.
Zinc by-products are recycled into zinc metal and ingredients used in paint pigments, car tires, sunblock, etc.
Zinc oxide captured by our high-efficiency baghouses contains no pre-coat chemicals required in some dust collectors—so zinc dust is very clean and salable.
Used pallets (which are off-spec for Maze’s use) are picked up and utilized by our vendors.
Cardboard triwall bins are very lightweight for shipping and are always reused.
Office paper is recycled locally in Lostant, Illinois.
Used machine oil is recycled in Rockford, Illinois and returned to us.
Forklift and automotive batteries recycled.
Sawdust is used to clean nails—no solvents.
